Aviation Engines

Aviation-related engine work requires strict inspection, precise machining, and accurate documentation. We can advise on what services are appropriate for your specific powerplant and machine components within aviation-grade tolerances.

Balancing

We balance rotating assemblies (crank, rods, pistons) to reduce vibration, improve engine smoothness, increase bearing life, and ensure reliability at higher RPM.

Crankshaft Grinding

Restores worn or damaged journals to correct size and finish, allowing undersized bearings and ensuring proper oil film support and long bearing life.

Crankshaft Polishing

Refines the journal surface finish to improve oil retention, reduce friction, and extend bearing endurance. Often performed after grinding or as part of an engine refresh.

Cylinder Boring & Honing

A core machining process for rebuilding. We resize cylinders to correct taper, out-of-round, and surface finish for proper ring seal and long engine life.

Benefits:

  • Restores compression

  • Reduces blow-by and oil consumption

  • Ensures correct piston-to-wall clearance

Technical:

  • Torque-plate honing available

  • Custom plateau finishes

  • Measurements taken across multiple planes

  • Accuracy typically within .0001"–.0002"

Engine Assembly

Full blueprint engine assembly for stock, performance,

marine, and aviation applications.

Includes:

  • Bearing clearances measured and recorded

  • Piston ring gapping

  • Precision torque procedures

  • Clean-room assembly

  • Full documentation and break-in guidance

Engine Reconditioning & Rebuilding

We restore worn engines by cleaning, inspecting,

machining, and replacing worn components. This includes

hot tanking, machining, new wear items, and optional

professional assembly.

Head Planing & Block Decking

We resurface heads and blocks to achieve a perfect gasket seal, restore compression, and correct warpage.

Technical:

  • MLS-friendly RA surface finishes

  • Zero-decking available

  • Warpage correction with chamber consistency maintained

Head Reconditioning

Complete restoration of cylinder heads.

Services include:

  • Cleaning and inspection

  • Valve seat and guide service

  • Valve replacement

  • Resurfacing

  • Pressure testing

High-Performance Upgrades

Machining and parts selection for performance builds.

Examples:

  • Forged pistons/rods

  • Camshaft upgrades

  • Additional compression

  • Stronger bottom-end components

  • Valvetrain upgrades

Hot Tank Cleaning

Heated chemical cleaning for iron blocks and heads. Removes heavy grease, oil, carbon, and sludge prior to machining.

Jet Washing

High-pressure hot detergent cleaning for iron and

aluminum components. Ideal for oil passages, coolant channels

and complex castings.

Lifter Bore Honing

Ensures lifters run true and with proper clearance — essential for roller cam and high-RPM applications.

Line Honing

Corrects alignment of the main bearing tunnel for proper

crankshaft support and reliability.

Benefits:

  • Eliminates binding

  • Reduces bearing wear

  • Improves high-RPM stability

  • Required after cap machining or resizing

Marine Engines

Marine engines run under constant load and require specialized machining and assembly for durability and corrosion resistance.

Multi-Angle Valve Seat Machining

Enhances airflow, sealing, and overall efficiency.

Benefits:

  • Better idle

  • Improved fuel economy

  • Longer valve life

Technical:

  • 3- and 5-angle seat profiles

  • Tight concentricity

  • Airflow-optimized transitions

  • Correct valve contact width

Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)

Inspection to confirm component integrity before machining

or assembly.

Methods:

  • Magnaflux crack testing

  • Dye penetrant for aluminum

  • Hardness testing

  • Surface finish (RA) measurement

Parts Sales & Price Matching

OEM and performance parts with industry-best pricing. We match major online retailers when possible and help you select the correct components the first time.

Press Work

Installation and removal of interference-fit components.

Examples:

  • Wrist pins

  • Bearings & bushings

  • Con rod small-end work

  • Gear installation

Vapour Honing (Wet Blasting)

Premium cleaning and restoration using water + fine media to rejuvenate metal surfaces without damaging them.

Benefits:

  • Safe on aluminum

  • Removes oxidation, corrosion, and staining

  • No abrasive embedment

  • Leaves a clean satin, factory-like finish

Common applications:

  • Engine cases

  • Cylinder heads

  • Carburetors & throttle bodies

  • Transmission housings

  • Motorcycle, marine, and aviation components
